Community and day centres
The council has several day centres in the borough. They assist in supporting people to live their lives at home and within the community.
Referrals to a day centre centre can be made following an assessment where a need was identified at a certain level for social, cultural and community support. This also covers practical assistance with personal care and respite for informal carers.
All directly provided day services operate from 9am to 5pm on weekdays with two sessions each day.
In order to access these centres you will need an assessment which can be arranged through Tower Hamlets Connect.
Russia Lane provides 25 places daily to users who have moderate to severe dementia.
The support service users receive is enhanced by the provision of both nursing and OT support from the Mental Health Foundation Trust. Visit the Russia Lane page for information.
