The government is promoting landlord accreditation schemes as an effective means of improving the private rented sector for the benefit of all.
The London landlord accreditation scheme is founded on the belief that the more knowledge and awareness landlords have regarding the key property management issues, the more likely it is that their properties will be maintained to a higher standard.
Another benefit is that their tenants' safety and health will be improved and, perhaps of equal importance to landlords, their businesses will be better protected against falling foul of the complex laws surrounding the letting of residential properties.

Landlord and managing agents needed
Tower Hamlets Homefinder is a new service being launched by the council which provides two schemes for landlords and managing agents.
The council’s financial incentive scheme provides a one-off, non-refundable cash payment for council-vetted nominations for Assured Shorthold Tenancies – and this incentive payment is just that, as it doesn’t need to be paid back!
With the forthcoming introduction of Universal credit, our rent guarantee scheme offers the reassurance that the rent is collected by us whatever the circumstances of the tenant and you will receive a guaranteed competitive monthly income backed by the council.

Private rented home Green Deal project
To coincide with the Green Deal launch, UK Landlord Accreditation Partnership (UKLAP) is offering £50 assessment cashback per property for landlords in London and the South East region who undertake Green Deal assessments in rented properties over the next few weeks (the scheme will end at the latest on March 27).
The scheme is open to any landlord of a rented property in Greater London, Essex, Kent, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Isle of Wight.
For landlords who undertake UKLAP Green Deal training, to run in February, £75 assessment cashback is available.
London Borough of Camden is the facilitator of the UK Landlord Accreditation Partnership and is receiving support from the DECC Local Authority Green Deal Pioneer Places Fund for this project.
To apply for funding, please complete the application form following instructions on page 2 to submit it to UKLAP.
£90m of improvement money for London's private rented homes
Major opportunity for landlords and London to get their share of energy suppliers' money.
New analysis by London Landlord Accreditation Scheme shows that privately rented homes in London should benefit from at least £90m of improvement grants from energy companies over the next two years, but it's up to London's landlords to claim their share of the money. In the past, London's homes have missed out on the investment.
