Empty property grants

Grants are available to private individuals, private landlords (including registered social landlords) who own an empty property which has been empty for six months or more and want to refurbish, demolish, rebuild or convert their property to a number of units.

In all cases, to qualify for a grant, the property must then be available for letting.

The grant is to bring the property up to the government’s decent homes standard and includes help for works to make the property a home that is secure and affordable to keep warm.

There are conditions attached to this grant, and the amount of grant available depends on the number and size of units created.
