School holiday programmes
The full 2018 summer programme is now live!
We're running our Adventure Sport Taster sessions and Try Athletics course again, as well as the return of the Girls Sports Camp that started in 2017.
We'll also be running our big family festivals throughout the summer across the borough's parks.
Some activities require pre-booking, and are allocated on a first come first served basis, but with priority given to Tower Hamlets residents.
Fit & Fed
In partnership with StreetGames and Fareshare, we provide a free lunch with some of our holiday programmes in order to combat holiday hunger.
Many low income families in Tower Hamlets rely on free school meals in order to ensure their children receive the nutrition they need, and the school holidays present a challenge on their budgets. Fit and Fed aims to reduce that burden, whilst also ensuring children get the exercise they need to stay healthy.
This summer's programme includes:
- Adventure Sport Summer Taster Sessions
- Estates Football
- Try Athletics
- Girls Sports Camp
- Parks Festivals
- Adventure Club at the Urban Adventure Base
Tower Hamlets Holiday Childcare
The Tower Hamlets Holiday Childcare Scheme. is Ofsted registered and provides childcare for children aged 3 to 13 years old, including sport and play sessions. It takes place in Tower Hamlets schools and operates during 9 weeks of the school holidays, (excluding the Christmas break), from an option between 8am to 6pm (for working parents) or 9am to 5pm.
Queen Mary University Sports Camp
Queen Mary will again be running their multi-sport camp for 8 - 13 year olds throughout the summer holidays, offering a fun range of sports including football, netball, rounders, basketball and many more! For full details visit their community sport website.
