If inclusive design is considered at the earliest point in the design process, the resultant proposals will be of a better quality. Including these principles in your application for planning permission will save time and money, avoiding costly re-designs later on in the process.

We have developed a set of inclusive design guidance notes to help guide you as to what the council expects with regard to inclusive design. These notes can be used by designers, planners, architects and anyone involved in shaping the built environment. These notes are intended to be regularly updated as legislation and best practice changes.
