Parking price increases come into effect on 18 April 2019

The parking charges will be increasing for on-street parking permits, off-street car parks, scratchcards, pay and display, suspensions, dispensations and skips. Please note that the diesel surcharge will be introduced in September 2019. A full list of the changes to the parking charges can be found here.

If you have received a permit reminder letter and you renew your permit on or after this date, the new charge will apply.

Market trader parking permit

You can apply for a market trader parking permit if you are a licensed market trader in the borough, and the vehicle is registered with market services.

There is a separate application for market trader scratchcards.

How and where to use a permit

Providing your parking permit is correctly displayed, you can park all day in parking bays signed:

  • Business permit holders only
  • Business permit holders or pay at machine
  • Permit holders only
  • Permit holders or pay at machine
  • Sunday market trader permits only.

Your parking permit is not valid for parking in bays signed differently to those above or off-street on estates. You should also make sure you do not park in suspended bays regardless of whether or not the reason for the suspension is apparent.

Change in details

If you change your vehicle you will have to register your new vehicle with Market Services and return your permit for the remaining time to be transferred onto the new vehicle.

There is a £5 administration fee.
