Parking price increases come into effect on 18 April 2019

The parking charges will be increasing for on-street parking permits, off-street car parks, scratchcards, pay and display, suspensions, dispensations and skips. Please note that the diesel surcharge will be introduced in September 2019. A full list of the changes to the parking charges can be found here.

If you have received a permit reminder letter and you renew your permit on or after this date, the new charge will apply.

Public service (general) on-street parking permit

There is a separate application for a London Borough of Tower Hamlets or school employee. For more information please refer to the application form.

Who can apply for a public service permit

  • You are directly employed by a public service organisation or registered charity.
  • You need a vehicle to carry out your day-to-day duties and not only for commuting to a permanent place of work.
  • Your vehicle must not exceed 2.3m (8’6”) in height or 5.2m (16’8”) in length.

Proof of eligibility

Please ensure that you meet the proof of eligibility terms and conditions in section 2 of the application form.

Complete and sign the application along with an authorised person in the organisation.

Photocopy of the UK Registration Certificate (V5C), New Keeper Supplement (V5C/2) or print out from the DVLA website showing the vehicle details DVLA vehicle details.

Where you can park

Your permit is only valid in parking bays signed:

  • Resident permit holders only
  • Permit holders only or
  • Permit holders or pay at machine.

Your permit is valid in all zones during the controlled hours.

Public service scratchcards are valid for one year from the date of purchase.
