Whether you are starting your own business or looking to expand Tower Hamlets council can offer business support and advice to all business in the borough. Information on funding programmes, health and safety at work, business grants are all available. There are also a number of local business support agencies, London regional agencies, and national agencies that can provide expert advice and training.

Health and safety at work

Tower Hamlets Council is responsible for carrying out routine inspections of commercial premises to ensure health and safety practices at work are implemented. The council also provides basic health and safety training courses.

Trading standards advice to business

Trading standards provides advice and information to local traders to help ensure they comply with trading standards legislation.  Routine visits are usually carried out to most local traders.

Food businesses
