Search and comment on planning applications

You can look at planning applications received by the council using our online planning register. This service allows you to:

  • see the details of individual planning applications
  • see what planning decisions we have made
  • submit comments on an application (if it’s within a consultation period)
  • track the progress of applications, save searches and get email notifications (when you register)
  • search for current or historic applications relating to a property (from 2000).

Please be patient when searching for planning applications, as our system deals with simultaneous requests. If the system is slow to respond or you see error messages, please try again after 20 minutes.

If you wish to comment on a planning application and are unable to do so using the system, please email development.control@towerhamlets.gov.uk.

An inquiry has been scheduled in relation to an appeal submitted by Vittoria Wharf Ltd against the council’s decision to refuse the following planning application:

Full planning permission for the redevelopment of the site, including the demolition of all existing buildings (with the exception of the Gatehouse and associated boundary wall), to provide:

  • a part eight-storey, part six-storey mixed-use development comprising 72 residential units (Use Class C3),
  • business floorspace (Use Class E(g)(iii)) at ground and part first-floor level,
  • together with associated highway and landscaping works.

The inquiry will start on 25 August 2026 at 10am and is expected to sit for eight working days

  • 25 to 28 August (28 August as a half day)
  • 2 to 4 September (4 September as half day)
  • 8 to 10 September

  • An appeal hearing was held between 1 to 2 July 2026 (Appeal References:  6008183 & 6008185) made by Gospel Support and Homes Trust Limited in relation to Church House, Wellclose Square, London, E1 8HY. The original planning application documents and the appeal documents are available on our planning register.
  • An appeal hearing was held between the 14 to 24 October 2025 following several appeals (3367041, 3367172, 3367369) made by Truman Estates Ltd  relating sites in and around the Truman Brewery.

  • Royal Mint Court - A Local Inquiry was held following the Secretary of State Call-In of Planning Application PA/24/01229 and Listed Building Consent Application PA/24/01248.
    This inquiry was held  over a number of days in February 2025.
