Learning centres
Tower Hamlets Council provides a range of
education and training related services aimed at improving skills
and boosting achievements for all. Learning centres are an
important part of this service offering access to resources,
information and training.
Among Tower Hamlets learning centres are:
- Idea
Stores: unique to Tower Hamlets Idea Stores are the
ideal place to browse and borrow books, learn new skills, surf the
net or to meet friends over coffee in a fun and stimulating
environment.
- School library
service: a subscription only service which offers an
extensive range of nearly 200,000 resources. All Tower Hamlets
primary schools are currently subscribed along with some secondary
schools and nurseries.
- The Professional Development Centre (PDC) which provides a base
for school-focused activities and training where teachers and
managers can meet regarding education-related matters both formally
and informally. Tel: 020 7364 6350. Information on courses is in the
CPD autumn
2010 brochure (pdf, 950 kb).
