Events
24 September, 10am to 12pm
Located in Mile End
On 24 September our partners TH-CVS and three universities will be holding an event in Mile End to bring the voluntary sector together with academics to explore opportunities for:
- Funding opportunities through grants programmes run by the universities
- Opportunities to get involved in research applications by supporting pre application public involvement or as co-investigator
- Capacity building support for local organisations through MA and PhD students.
- Opportunities for local communities, such as training and employment.
Attendees will find out more about the work of the HDRC – including our five thematic research areas, Queen Mary University of London’s East London research guidelines as well as opportunities to be involved in research with the NHS.
We look forward to sharing the outcomes of this event.

Sacred Body an event brought to you by Account3 as part of the Dare to Lead programme and proudly funded by The London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
This initiative is a women-led community event confronting the untold impact of racism, sexism, and silence on our bodies, from puberty to menopause and everything between.
This isn’t a panel. It’s not a lecture. This is a conversation we should’ve had years ago. We’ll talk about what gets brushed off, misdiagnosed, and misunderstood, especially in women of colour.
Think: Mrs Begum Syndrome. Think: “It’s all in your head.” Think again.
Expect:
- Candid, intergenerational conversations
- Tools to understand your body, your rights, your power
- Local women from the Dare to Lead 2025 cohort
- Community, clarity, and collective healing
- Free Lunch too in a Sisterhood Way
