98 per cent of children due to start primary school in September have been offered a place at one of their preferred primary schools in Tower Hamlets. This is consistent with figures from last year.
Tower Hamlets Council received 2,918 applications to primary schools this year.
92.3 per cent secured a place at their first preference school, the same figure as 2024-25, and above the London average of 87.9%.
97.6 per cent secured a place at one of their top three preferences.
A very small percentage of children (2.1 per cent) did not receive an offer at a preferred school, but have been offered a nearby alternative.
All Tower Hamlets children starting primary school in September 2025 have therefore received an offer of a place on National Offer Day 2025.
There are also enough places remaining at schools across the borough to accommodate new arrivals to the area.
Deputy Mayor of Tower Hamlets and Cabinet Member for Education, Youth and Lifelong Learning, said:
“I’m pleased that once again, the vast majority of families have been offered a place at one of their preferred primary schools. The consistency of our school offers for primary school children year on year reflect the continued hard work of our admissions team and local schools to ensure every child has the best possible start to their education journey.
“We understand how important this day is for parents and carers, and we’re committed to supporting all families through the process.”
