Families across Tower Hamlets have received their primary school offers for September 2026, with 97.8 per cent of pupils securing a place at one of their top three preferred schools – a slightly higher proportion compared to last year’s figure of 97.6 per cent, and higher than the London average (97 per cent).

Within this overall outcome, 92.6 per cent of families received an offer at their first preference school, small rise from 92.3 per cent in 2025 and 6 per cent higher than across London (88.4 per cent).

In total, 98.2 per cent of parents received an offer from one of their six preferences. 1.8 per cent could not be offered a place at any of their preferences and were allocated a place.

All primary school applicants received an offer of a place at a Tower Hamlets school on National Offer Day 2026. There are also enough places remaining at schools across the borough to accommodate new arrivals to the area.

Tower Hamlets Council received a total of 2,713 applications for pupils to start primary school in September 2026.

Steve Reddy, corporate director – children’s, said: “It’s great to see so many parents and children secure their preference of primary school in Tower Hamlets.

“We are really grateful to our School Admission Service for all their hard work and commitment and to all our primary heads and their teams.”
