Tower Hamlets Council’s 45 councillors across 20 borough wards have been declared at the election count held at ExCel London on Saturday 9 May.

The distribution of the 45 seats on the council are confirmed as:

  • Aspire Party 33 seats
  • Green Party 5 seats
  • Labour Party 5 seats
  • Conservative Party 1 seat
  • Liberal Democrats Party 1 seat

The results from each declaration were posted across the council’s social media channels and uploaded onto the website as they came in throughout the day.

Stephen Halsey, Returning Officer for Tower Hamlets, said:

“Congratulations to the ward councillors who have been elected and thank you to all candidates who took part.

“I want to extend my appreciation to everyone involved in delivering these elections. Tower Hamlets continues to set a high standard for election management nationally and I am proud of how everyone has contributed to the success of both counts over the past two days.”

The Borough Wards count on Saturday followed the count held on Friday 8 May for the Executive Mayor of Tower Hamlets, where Lutfur Rahman was confirmed as Executive Mayor.
