16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence

White Ribbon Day, observed on 25 November, marks the start of the 16 Days of Activism - a global campaign dedicated to eliminating gender-based violence and abuse against women and girls. Throughout this period, the council and our partners unite to raise awareness, challenge harmful attitudes, and highlight the support available for victims as well as those seeking to change abusive behaviours. We’re hosting a number of events during the 16 days and encourage residents, staff, and partners to get involved.

Loving Me

High quality support by trained specialists who understand the specific needs of the trans community as well as abuse and are a by-and-for service. The service is user-led which means that they provide support based on what the individual would like or needs.

Loving Me define domestic abuse as violence, abuse or controlling behaviour perpetrated by a partner, ex-partner, or family member. This can be physical, emotional, financial, or sexual. Loving Me also support people affected by so called ‘honour’-based violence and forced marriage.
