The Library opened its doors in 1922 and is situated In Bethnal Green Gardens – off Cambridge Road and within a minute’s reach from Bethnal Green Underground station. After recent improvement works to improve the facilities, the library now boasts: 

• a new heating system
• light redecoration of the main library and its rooms
• a brand new Wi-fi system
• a new surfing space with eight computers for internet access, scanning and printing facilities
• a new bench for laptop users additional comfortable seating spaces for people using their own devices
• a new layout for the library – including adult and child fiction.

There are two halls available for hire at this site. The two halls each can cater for up to 100 people on conference style or 40 in cabaret style layout.
Please note that there is no disabled access to the 1st floor where the two halls are based.
