Mayor's Accelerated Housing Programme Market Engagement Event
More than 200 representatives from across the housing, development and construction sectors registered to attend London Borough of Tower Hamlets' market engagement event for the Mayor's Accelerated Housing Programme (MAHP), held at Tower Hamlets Town Hall.
The event brought together Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, development partners, local SMEs and organisations interested in supporting the delivery of new homes across the borough. Attendees heard from Councillor Saied Ahmed, Cabinet Member for Homebuilding and Enhancing Council Homes and Neighbourhoods, alongside officers leading the programme and procurement process.
The session provided an overview of the Council's housing ambitions, the opportunity to deliver the first 340 homes across nine development sites, procurement guidance for prospective partners, and a chance to ask questions and network.
One of the most ambitious affordable housing programmes led by a local authority in England, the Mayor's Accelerated Housing Programme aims to deliver 3,400 new homes across at least 42 sites in Tower Hamlets. The Programme has been established to accelerate the delivery of high-quality, affordable homes while creating opportunities for the housing and construction sectors to support the borough's long-term growth.
Councillor Saied Ahmed, Cabinet Member for Homebuilding and Enhancing Council Homes and Neighbourhoods, said:
