Tower Hamlets was full of celebrations yesterday (Thursday 13 August) as students received their A-level results.
Students from across the borough were at their schools to find out the grades they achieved in their A-Level and Level 3 vocational qualification exams.
Pupils collecting their results at St Paul's Way Trust School in Bow were joined by Cllr Faysal Ahmed, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Life Chances.
Some high achievers from St Paul’s Way School:
Ibrahim Rashid got 4 A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Computer Science. He’s going to study Mathematics at university.
Isaac Scott achieved an A* and 2 As in History, Art and Maths. He’ll be studying Architecture at university in 2027 after a gap year working at a church in Belgium.
Siyaana Yasmin got 2 As and a B in History, Economics and Politics, winning her a place at her dream university.
Firdusi Uddin, Head of Secondary and Sixth Form at St Paul’s Way School, said:
“We’re really pleased this year, as always, with the incredible performance of our students. Their hard work, their resilience and the support that they’ve received from all the teachers, their families and the wider community have translated into a fantastic set of results and opened pathways for them to explore some ambitious and exciting next steps.
“I’m wishing all our students all the best and thank you to their families and our staff for their support.”
Lutfur Rahman, Executive Mayor of Tower Hamlets, said:
“I would like to congratulate all students on their A-Level results.
“Having the youngest population of any local authority in the country means that providing for the borough’s young people is a huge priority. We have introduced significant investment to support young people at every stage of their education, including free school meals, school clothing grants, the Education Maintenance Allowance and University Bursaries throughout the borough.
“These results are further proof of the importance of investing in young people and of the hard work and dedication that they have put in throughout the year.
“Thank you also to all the parents, teachers, school and college staff who have supported the students in their journeys and helped to get them with their achievements.”
Cllr Faysal Ahmed, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Life Chances, said:
“Congratulations to all our students on their results. As Cabinet Member I have seen first-hand the hard work that our young people have put in, as well as the incredible support that they have received from the great educators in our borough.
“This is a time to celebrate success and recognise the talent we have in Tower Hamlets.”
