An evening of Bengali music, poetry with Dhamail, a participatory, colourful, celebratory dance embracing community
Dhamail, Bengali Folk & the celebration of the birth-centenary of Allen Ginsburg
Curated by poet Ahmed Kaysher, the session offers hypnotic presentations of Bengali spiritual folk/Sufi and Vaishnav Music along with a very participative, traditional, colourful and therapeutic form of dance called Dhamail.
The session will also celebrate the birth Centenary of a leading American poet Allen Ginsberg who was hugely influenced by the life and poetic works of Bengali mystic minstrels through presentation of Bengali mystic spiritual music with recital of complementing verses of Ginsberg that was hugely influenced by Bengali m minstrels e.g. Lalon and others.
