Free condoms – C-Card scheme

Young people aged 13-24 can access free condoms through the Come Correct (C-Card) scheme. Once registered, you can collect condoms or get advice from any outlet displaying the Come Correct logo.

Emergency contraception

There are two main types of emergency contraception:

  1. Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC): Commonly known as the "morning after pill," it's most effective when taken as soon as possible after unprotected sex. Available at local pharmacies. If you cannot access this from the pharmacy then please book an emergency contraception appointment online through All East
  2. Emergency Intrauterine Device (IUD): The most effective form of emergency contraception. To access an emergency IUD, you can walk into the sexual health clinical at Ambrose King Centre or call 020 7480 4737.

Female Genital Cutting (FGC) support

Support services for women affected by FGC include:

  • Primrose Clinic, Mile End Hospital - a community-based clinic that offers a range of support services and a reversal service for women affected by FGM.

Clinic S – provided by All East, is a free and confidential service to women, men, trans and gender non-binary individuals, working in the sex or adult entertainment industry for sexual health.

Designed to demystify charity finance, this three-hour course provides practical guidance on essential financial management. Measuring the difference your volunteer programme makes

This session delivered by Volunteer Centre Tower Hamlets and funded by the City Bridge Foundation will enable organisations to create an evaluation plan that will enable them to understand and demonstrate the difference their volunteer programme makes. It will look at what “making a difference” means, developing reasonable programme outcomes, practical and user-friendly information tools and how to analyse and communicate the results of an organisation’s assessments.

It is suitable for experienced Volunteer Managers, as well as those who are new to managing volunteers. The session is free to voluntary sector and public sector organisations with a base/office in Tower Hamlets, or that have services aimed at Tower Hamlets residents.

The Newby Trust - Education Grants

The Newby Trust funds local, regional or national charities registered and operating in the UK within the broad categories of education, health and social welfare. Through the Education programme, the Trust provides grants to enable people to benefit from educational opportunities and to support excellence.

Eligibility

The Trust is more likely to fund smaller or medium-sized charities with an annual income of less than £1,000,000.

Funding amount

Grants of between £2,000 and £10,000 are available

Blue Spark Foundation

The BlueSpark Foundation offers grants for kids' education and development. It funds activities like education, sports, and culture and aims to:

  • improve the educational opportunities for young people
  • enhance their self-confidence, teamwork skills, and future employability.

Eligibility

Beneficiaries - schools, community groups, clubs, societies, and non-profit organizations working with children and young people.

Location - Primarily within the UK, though specific eligibility might differ depending on individual grants.

Project focus - Activities that benefit young people like

  • educational programs and workshops
  • cultural events and activities
  • sports and physical activities
  • personal development initiatives.

Funding amount

Grants between £2,000 to £5,000.
