Role overview

As a Commissioner for Tower Hamlets Women's Commission, you will have a crucial role in promoting gender equality and empowering women in Tower Hamlets. Your focus will be on improving outcomes for women and girls in areas such as health, employment, community leadership and women's safety. This position requires you to use your influence, networks, and passion for driving positive change to support initiatives that advance women's empowerment.

Key responsibilities

1. Advocate for gender equality

Act as a vocal advocate for gender equality and women's rights within your network.

2. Promote initiatives

Promote and support initiatives that empower women.

3. Public engagement

Engage with the public through speaking engagements, interviews, and other platforms to raise awareness about the importance of female empowerment.

4. Collaboration

Collaborate with like-minded individuals, organisations, and influencers to amplify the impact of our initiatives.

5. Inspiration and mentorship

Inspire others through your journey and experiences, providing mentorship and guidance to those aspiring to make a difference.

6. Qualifications

  • Passion for gender equality and women's empowerment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influence within your community or industry.
  • A track record of advocating for social causes.

Essential

  • Demonstrated passion for, and commitment to, advancing gender equality and female empowerment.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by women in Tower Hamlets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate and promote the mission of female empowerment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and influence others towards a common goal.
  • High levels of personal and professional integrity.
  • Authenticity in representing and embodying the values of female empowerment.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and develop effective plans for advancing female empowerment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, fostering a sense of inclusivity and cooperation.
