Resident voices at the heart of Public Health communications
Tower Hamlets Public Health, in partnership with THCVS, recently piloted a Resident Community Communications panel - an exciting initiative aimed at improving how we communicate with local communities.
The panel brought together residents to review and provide feedback on public health communications, including materials for national campaigns like Vital 5, which promotes healthier living to prevent long-term conditions. Since its launch, the panel has been highly active and dedicated, offering insightful suggestions that have already made a difference.
HDRC meets the panel
The HDRC team had the pleasure of presenting our programme to the panel. The conversation was open, honest, and enlightening - especially around how research and evidence are understood in daily life. Residents shared thoughtful feedback on how HDRC could better communicate its work and value.
Turning feedback into action
We didn’t just talk - we listened. The panel reviewed our current resident leaflet and even created alternative designs. Their fresh ideas and creativity were impressive, and yes - we’re looking forward to incorporating some of their designs into the final version!
What’s next?
As the pilot phase wraps up, feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. We’re now exploring opportunities for the panel to continue its valuable work. We'll be sure to share future developments in upcoming editions, in the meantime look at some of the great designs.
