No schools facing 'concrete closures' in Tower Hamlets

Following media reports of a number of school closures across the country due to issues with the type of concrete used in their construction, we can confirm that there will be no such school closures in Tower Hamlets.

There are three schools in the borough which are affected by this issue, however they are able to remain open as the affected areas can be safely cordoned off while further investigation and any remedial work necessary takes place.

The Headteachers of three affected schools are informing parents of the issue and the next steps involved.

All schools in Tower Hamlets will still open next week for all pupils for the start of the new school year.
