Call for women's views to help bridge the gender divide

Women across Tower Hamlets are being called upon to share their views and lived experiences in a new survey aimed at gathering information to help tackle gender inequalities in the borough.

The survey, launched by the council’s Women’s Commission, asks for the views of women on key issues including health, safety, employment and community leadership.

When answering this survey, feel free to choose which key theme you would like to talk about—this can be one or many.

All responses will remain anonymous and will play a vital role in shaping the Commission’s recommendations and future actions.

We will keep participants updated on the progress of the Commission.

Manzila Uddin, Chair of the Women’s Commission, said:

“We, as commissioners, want to hear women’s views—and we respect all women, from every walk of life in our borough.

“We are committed to ensuring that your experiences are brought forward with clarity and conviction, and that your voices are represented authentically.

“Please get involved and work with us to deliver change for women in Tower Hamlets.”

Executive Mayor of Tower Hamlets, Lutfur Rahman said:

“Tackling gender inequality in our borough is a priority and we are determined to build a fairer Tower Hamlets for women from all backgrounds.

“The Women's Commission is working with our communities to better understand lived experiences and provide support and resources.

“As a woman living or working in Tower Hamlets, your experiences must be part of the solution going forward. Please share your thoughts and experiences through the survey – your voice is vital to shaping meaningful change."
