What can I expect of an OT assessment
The assessment explores your priorities and any changes you may want to make. OTs will work with you, your family and/or carers or any other person relevant to your care to achieve the best outcomes.
To make your day-to-day more manageable and safer for you, OTs may suggest:
They will advise you on how to get these aids, some of which you can get for yourself and others, depending on your needs, will be provided for you.

OTs can also recommend the involvement of other professionals such as NHS community health teams or reablement services and will plan for you to receive that support.
What if I need care after the OT assessment?
The OT assessment is Care Act compliant. This means the OT will see if you need long term support from us (and if the national eligibility criteria is met). If required, your OT will produce the support plan with you. In some cases, input from a social worker may be required.
If the assessment finds you are not eligible for support from us by law, we will still offer information and advice to help you to live independently and maintain a good quality of life.
