Tower Hamlets Local Plan

The Tower Hamlets Local Plan 2031: Managing Growth and Sharing Benefits was adopted by Full Council on 15 January 2020.

This document provides spatial policies, development management policies and site allocations to guide and manage development in the borough.

This is accompanied by the Policies Map - available to view in interactive or PDF format.  This illustrates the policies and proposals set out in the Local Plan.

Core Strategy

The Core Strategy was formally adopted in September, 2010.

Evidence Base

To support and inform the production of the Local Plan and other supplementary guidance, technical research was undertaken as supporting evidence base.

Managing Development Document evidence base

The following evidence base documents were produced between 2010-2012 to specifically inform the adopted Managing Development Document (MDD) (2013). The evidence developed for the adopted Core Strategy (further down below) also informed the MDD.
