Freedom pass for older persons

The Older Persons Freedom Pass entitles the holder to concessionary travel on buses, trains and other forms of local public transport. Commonly called a freedom pass, these passes are paid for by the council, but are issued by London Councils on our behalf.

To be eligible for an Older Persons Freedom Pass, the applicant must be aged over 62+ and resident in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The age eligibility can be confirmed by accessing London Council's Freedom Pass website.

The freedom pass allows you to travel on London's public transport including:

  • Buses
  • London Underground
  • London Overground
  • Dockland Light Railway
  • Trams
