Love Your Summer of Fun 2026

From family fun days, and a new heritage trail, to gardening, sport, a reading challenge, workshops, and much more, Tower Hamlets Council is bringing a summer packed with free activities for children, young people and families across the borough.

As part of the Summer of Fun 2026 programme, residents of all ages will have opportunities to come together, make lasting memories, try something new, get active, explore local history and celebrate everything there is to love about Tower Hamlets.

Whether it's enjoying a day out in one of the borough's parks, picking fresh fruit and vegetables, getting creative at the Idea Stores, taking part in sports and youth activities, or discovering hidden local stories, there will be something for everyone throughout the school holidays.

Councillor Minara Khatun, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Tourism, said:

"Summer should be a time for making memories, trying new things and spending quality time with family and friends, and our Summer of Fun 2026 programme offers exactly that.
We are proud to provide a fantastic range of free activities that give children, young people and residents of all ages the opportunity to get active, be creative, learn new skills and enjoy everything our borough has to offer.

From family fun days in our parks and exciting youth activities to reading challenges, gardening sessions and community events, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Summer of Fun is all about bringing communities together, celebrating our amazing local spaces and helping residents discover even more reasons to love Tower Hamlets."

Highlights of the Summer of Fun 2026 programme include:  

• Large scale family fun days hosted by council parks and children and family centres teams at Mile End Park Children’s Park and Whitehorse Open Space.
  The fun filled days out will include sport, arts and crafts, smoothie bikes, soft play and much more.
• Hands-on gardening sessions, where children can learn how fruit and vegetables grow, harvest fresh produce and discover the wonders of nature.
• Read to the Beat Summer Reading Challenge, Lego Build the Change creative tasks, special events and more at borough Idea Stores and libraries.
• Young Tower Hamlets, Tower Hamlets youth service will host a variety of workshops, trips, socials, sports sessions and more for young people.
• Four days of free entertainment for all ages as part of In The Neighbourhood with All Points East, featuring live music, theatre, sports and family activities.
