Opening hours and access

We are open Monday to Friday, 9.10am to 4.30pm for those with appointments. We are closed in the afternoon of every second Wednesday in the month. There is a reduced service over the lunch period for those without appointments. Queries are best handled via email.

If you wish to contact Tower Hamlets Register Office regarding an emergency burial, please call and leave a voicemail during emergency hours 07977 266 706 and somebody will call you back.

Due to limited resources we may not be able to answer our phones and you may experience long call wait times. Please email us in the first instance with your contact number in case we cannot resolve your query via email.

St Georges Town Hall

We are located in St Georges Town Hall, close to Shadwell stations.

There is no parking at St Georges Town Hall but we do have disabled access. Please walk, cycle or use public transport to arrive at your appointments where possible.

We are located on the DLR and Windrush lines. The D3 and 100 bus routes stop outside our building. The Elizabeth Line is close by at Whitechapel (also on the Windrush Line for an interchange).

Some apps, including uber etc, still direct people to Bow and you won't be seen if you arrive to your appointment late. If you are using a cab, please ensure they are taking you to Shadwell.
