Meeting New People
Most people like to make friends and socialise with other people but it's not always easy; especially if you're unable to get out much.
The loneliness and isolation that results from lack of social contact can harm your health but there are things you can do to meet people and to make new friends.
Start by trying the following:
- Get in touch with LinkAge Plus - a network of community groups which offer outreach and activities for people over 50.
- Social prescribers located in GP practices offer one-to-one appointments where people can talk about their concerns with a specialist who will identify the best assistance, often through local voluntary services.
- Check out other local groups listed in the Idea Store Directory
