School Clothing Grants
What is a School Clothing Grant?
A school clothing grant helps with the cost of school uniform for children starting reception year or transferring to secondary school.
How much is the grant?
- Reception Year: £50.00 per child
- Secondary School year 7: £150 per child
Do you qualify?
To qualify, your annual household income must be £50,350 or less.
You will need to provide the last two months of payslips for both you and your partner.
When should you apply?
If your child is aged 4 and starting reception or aged 11 and changing from primary to secondary school.
You can apply until 30 November.
How to apply
Make sure you upload a copy of your bank statement and proof of income if you or your partner are not receiving Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction.
Apply for a school clothing grant
Payment Information
All school clothing grants are paid into a bank or building society account in your name.
Payments can only be made if you provide a bank statement dated within the last 3 months.
The bank statement must show:
- Your name
- Address
- Account number
- Sort code
