Lithium battery fires

Lithium batteries have caused fires in the rubbish lorries. Please do not put batteries in your waste or recycling bin. All batteries (including lithium batteries from e-bikes and e-scooters and other re-chargeable devices) can be taken to the Reuse and Recycling Centre at Northumberland Wharf.

Air quality action plan, progress, and delivery

Every council with an air quality management area (AQMA) must create a five-year air quality action plan (AQAP) detailing measures to meet the national air quality objectives.

An annual status report must be submitted to DEFRA to report on progress towards this aim. The following list contains our reports as well as the action plan:
