Resident training

Resident Training Programme 2026

We offer free, practical courses for council tenants and leaseholders, designed to support everyday life, improve wellbeing, and help residents play an active role in their community.

The programme covers a wide range of topics, from understanding your housing rights and building safety, to managing community buildings, improving household skills, and developing leadership and professional skills.

We also run courses specifically for residents who are members of residents’ associations or are considering getting involved. These sessions support residents to confidently chair meetings, manage finances, organise community events, and hold landlords to account.

Training takes place at two locations across the borough, with sessions running from May to October. Some courses are accredited, meaning you can gain a nationally recognised qualification.

Whether you want to learn something new, get more involved locally, or develop skills that support your future, this is your opportunity.

Spaces are limited, so sign up early to avoid missing out.
