Middlesex Cricket and Tower Hamlets Cricket Club

A variety of sessions for young people across the borough, from competitive coaching to informal street cricket:

  • Street Cricket, Fridays 3.30-5.30pm: ages 8-15, Oaklands School
  • Street Cricket, Sundays 10am-12pm: ages 16-24, Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy

Tower Hamlets Wheelers

Tower Hamlets Wheelers run cycling and bike maintenance sessions for children and adults throughout the week, including beginner rides, BMX, guided rides, and women only.

Access Sport BMX

Exercise, dance & fitness

Our Parks

Our Parks run a huge variety of exercise and fitness classes ranging from aerobics to zumba in venues including Victoria Park, Meath Gardens and Ropemakers Field, many of which are absolutely free! Find out more on the Our Parks website.

Poplar Harca

Poplar Harca run many activities for local residents, such as ballroom dance, pilates, tai chi and much more. For more information go to the Well One website.

There are 3 teams in Tower Hamlets providing hockey coaching and match play for a variety of ages:

Rugby

Millwall Rugby Club

A large club catering for social and competitive rugby, with several men's, women's and youth teams. They are based in Millwall Park on the Isle of Dogs. Visit the website for more information.

Queen Mary University

QMSU run a community O2 touch rugby session at Stepney Green Park on Tuesdays, 5.30 - 7pm. It's a social turn up and play session for anyone interested in non-contact rugby. Head over to their Facebook page for more information.

Tower Hamlets Tennis

Premier Tennis provide lessons, club sessions and court hire for tennis in the borough's parks. There are also opportunities for young people to participate in holiday programmes.

If you want to play social matches against people at your level you can try Local Tennis Leagues.

Volleyball

London Lynx Volleyball Club

Competitive male and female teams, as well as an open training session at Poplar Baths every Thursday evening. Visit the Volleyball England London Lynx webpage for more information.

HASSRA Volleyball Club

Social leagues

Mixed Netball

Queen Mary University's Community Mixed Netball League is the perfect opportunity for men & women of all abilities to socialise in a fun and competitive environment. Referees and equipment all included. All you need is a pair of trainers and some comfortable clothes.

4 October – 6 December (Thursdays), 7-9pm, Mile End Park Leisure Centre (outdoor courts)

Team entry is £350 which works out individually as £3.50 per week based on a team of 10 players. You can enter by visiting the Community Sport League website  

Go Mammoth

Go Mammoth operate social leagues in several sports around the borough, including basketball, football, netball, softball and volleyball.
