Disability Sport

The sport and physical activity team and our partners support the running of inclusive sport wherever possible, so make sure to check our find a sport and weekly timetable for additional opportunities.


Poplar Baths, Mile End Park, and Tiller Leisure Centres run sessions specifically for people with disabilities.

Mile End Park LC Ages 5 - Adult Wednesday, 5.30 - 8pm
Poplar Baths LC Ages 3 - Adult Thursday, 4.15 - 7.30pm

We run and support sessions at Mile End Park Leisure Centre where participants can try different sports and activities each week.

Motivate East

Motivate East is a project for disabled people run in boroughs surrounding the Olympic Park. They run participation events to try out new sports, loan or provide equipment and a portable sports playing surface, give support for existing sports programmes to become more inclusive, and more:

Paralympic Legacy Agents Programme: A local volunteering programme to raise the profile of opportunities in the host boroughs and make sure a diverse range of disabled people make the most of the project. For further information  visit the Bromley by Bow Centre website.

Visually Impaired Programme

We support two sessions for adults with visual impairments in partnership with Illuminate Freedom at Mile End Park Leisure Centre every Monday. Zumba is from 12 - 1.30pm, and Contemporary Dance from 3 - 4pm.
