Building control fees and charges

The charges we apply for building regulations applications are either determined as a standard charge or, for larger schemes, individually determined on a case-by-case basis.

Higher-risk Buildings - Building Safety Act 2022

The hourly rate for supporting the Building Safety Regulator in the performance of its relevant functions under Building Safety Act 2022  is £182/hour.

Out of hours inspections

In order to facilitate completion or occupation or to minimise disturbance to building users, arrangements can be made to witness testing of fire and live safety systems out of normal working hours.

The following charges apply:

• Monday to Friday (up to 9pm) - £125 per hour
• Monday to Friday (after 9pm) and weekends - £205 per hour

Non-statutory services

We charge for some non-statutory services, such as providing copies of approval and completion certificates and file retrieval. See more details for document copy requests and file retrieval.
