Payment performance
2023-24 payment performance
During 2023-24, the council paid 90.19 per cent of invoices within 30 days, 6373 were paid after 30 days. No interest was paid to suppliers after 30 days, interest calculated on payments made after 30 days at 8 per cent above Bank of England base rate would have been £185,151.
2022-23 payment performance
During 2022-23, the council paid 90.92 per cent of invoices within 30 days, 5658 were paid after 30 days. No interest was paid to suppliers after 30 days, interest calculated on payments made after 30 days at 8 per cent above Bank of England base rate would have been £164,756.
2021-22 payment performance
During 2021-22, the council paid 92.31 per cent of invoices within 30 days. 4,608 Invoices were paid after 30 days.
No interest was paid to suppliers for payment after 30 days. Interest calculated on payments made after 30 days at 8 per cent above Bank of England base rate would have been £270,809.
2020-21 payment performance
During 2020-21 the council paid 88.39 per cent of invoices within 30 days. 7,196 Invoices were paid after 30 days.

During 2019-20 the council paid 92.39 per cent of invoices within 30 days. 12,129 Invoices were paid after 30 days.

National Fraud Initiative (NFI) 2020/2021
The council is taking part in the National Fraud Initiative (NFI) 2020/2021. The NFI National Data Matching Exercise is overseen by the Cabinet Office and participation for local authorities is compulsory.
The data matching process is facilitated through an online secure website.
Your data/information may be used for the National Fraud Initiative (NFI) data matching exercise conducted by the Cabinet Office to assist in the prevention and detection of fraud.
All participating organisation are required to submit data onto the specified secured.
This is a statutory requirement under the provisions of Part 6 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. It is made under Article 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
"We may share information provided to us with other bodies responsible for auditing, or administering public funds, or where undertaking a public function, in order to prevent and detect fraud".
