Getting help from a planning agent
If you are unfamiliar with the planning process, you may wish to consider using a professional planning agent to help you with your planning application.
This can be an architect, builder or another appropriately experienced person.
We’re unable to make recommendations on particular companies or individuals. However, we recommend that you use someone that is registered with one of the following professional bodies:
Please be aware that if you use an agent then:
- all correspondence will be sent to them
- any enquiries will go through them
- they will receive the decision notice
- we will discuss the application with the agent but not an applicant
Your agent should advise you about any foreseeable issues associated with your proposal if you do not follow our advice. You should contact your agent if you have any problems with your application.
