This practical talk will introduce you to the activities of the Escola de Teatro Popular (ETP). Based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, it works with 8 groups from social movements, favelas, occupations and trade unions. They use the Theatre of the Oppressed as a form of struggle against fascism. Participants will engage in theatrical exercises and games. This will help you understand how the work happens in practice.
Geo Britto and Julian Boal created the ETP as a training tool for those working in social movements. They use theatre as an instrument to overcome struggle.
