Beshura (Out of Tune) is a bilingual play set in the East End of London. It examines the lives of three unemployed young men, Hussain, Islam, and Ishak. They live in sublet accommodation, and the play centres on their interactions with their landlord, Ali, and his family. When the tenants struggle to pay rent, Ali asks them to leave. However, he is moved by his son’s compassion after discovering their hardship. The play takes a comedic turn as Hussain, plays the harmonium out of tune. This leads Islam and Ishak to seek a doctor’s intervention. This tale is a blend of humour, romance, and comedy , but ultimately highlights the theme of kindness. It shows how people, even in difficult circumstances, can support one another. Compassion and community spirit are paramount.
