Chrysalis presents the serious issue of menopause in a light-hearted satire. The narrative unfolds as five women from different cultures encounter menopausal symptoms. The contexts vary between home, work and other social settings. They face dismissal, misunderstanding, and isolation. At their lowest points, they find one another in a support group.

Storytelling transforms their experiences. As their stories come to light, they move from victims of circumstance to agents of their own futures. The protagonists reclaim their bodies and identities. This mirrors the journey from isolation to community and from silence to expression. They become empowered. They celebrate wisdom and possibility. They decide to be kind to themselves.  The play concludes with the women in vibrant attire - visible and vocal. The menopause is not the end. It is the threshold to a more meaningful, self-determined chapter of life.
