This is a talk by Geo Britto from Escola de Teatro Popular (School of Peoples Theatre). He will share insights into and experience of ‘theatre in conflict’.   The school is a space for social movements that develop culture as a tool for political discussion. It uses experimentation with theatrical techniques. Its aim is to discuss forms of oppression and challenge social contradictions. Another focus is to train political agents to intervene in their movements and communities. Other guest speakers will join the discussion.

About the organisation

ETP is a political and artistic space. They use the techniques of Theatre of the Oppressed, Popular Theatre, and political theatre. They work with social movements. ETP currently has six theatre groups, popular with trade unions, favelas, women, and workers. This is an ongoing workstream to educate people about fascism in our society. We use theatre as a form of anti-fascist struggle.
