We are responsible for the prevention of crime and antisocial behaviour by children and young people. We supervise their court orders and out of court disposals, both in the community and in custody.

Youth Justice Service Management Board and annual plan

The work of our service is governed by the Youth Justice Service Management Board (YJSMB). The key work of the YJSMB is to meet the needs of some of the most vulnerable children and young people in Tower Hamlets and City of London.

Multi-agency work, with statutory and other partners, and thorough community engagement is the only effective way to meet all the needs of children and young people. This way we can achieve better outcomes for them, as well as, help to prevent offending and reoffending whilst meeting the needs of victims, families and the wider community.

A 2020-21 annual plan has not been requested by the Youth Justice Board due to Covid-19. However, the most recent plan from 2019-20 is available.
