Parent & Adult Education


The Parenting and Adult Education (PAE) teams work is to coordinate courses, programmes, and employment pathways for families with children pre-birth – 19 years old or 25 years old for those with Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND).
Our focus offer is on enabling Early Steps into Parenting and Education through-
- Increasing parenting capacity and knowledge
- Access to education and training
- Employability & good job opportunities
Who we support
Our programmes and courses target local families with children who are registered with a Children and Family Centre. We work with different organisations to ensure that we deliver to meet the needs of our families.
Our offer
We offer a variety of programmes and courses which are delivered on a termly basis through classroom-based training or through an online platform. We are unique in our offer as we provide on-site crèche facilities, but please note that there are limited spaces available on a ‘first come first served’ basis. Eligibility
All our programmes, courses and crèche services are free but subject to specific eligibility criteria;
- you must be a resident of Tower Hamlets/UK/EU for the last 3 years or more,
- you are registered with a Children and Family Centre,
- you are unemployed on Benefits or if your household income is less than £21,157.50 per year.

We continue to offer:
- Classroom-based courses
- Increased number of sessions delivered online
- Increased number of training which is both online and classroom-based learning
- Numbers of learners for both the classroom and blended learning remains reduced in order to accommodate learning within a socially distanced environment.
- Limited creche provision which is offered on a first-come first-served basis

Please note these sessions will be delivered from the children and family centre venues and anyone attending these sessions will be required to follow strict social-distancing measures for the site concerned. A range of actions will also need to be followed for effective infection protection and control and we ask those who have coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms, or who have someone in their household who does, not to attend.
How to apply
Pop down to your local Children and Family Centre and tell the staff member what programme or course you are interested in. They can also help you with the registration process, take your EIS ID number and direct you to the appropriate waiting list form. You can also complete our Parent Enquiry Form.
