Parent and Adult Education

The Parenting and Adult Education (PAE) team coordinate courses, programmes, and employment pathways for families with children from birth – 19 years old or up to 25 years old for those with Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND).

Our focus offer is on enabling Early Steps into parenting and education through:

  • Increasing parenting understanding and knowledge
  • Access to education and training
  • Employability and good job opportunities

Who we support

Our programmes and courses target local families with children who are registered with a Children and Family Centre. We work with different organisations to ensure that we deliver to meet the needs of our families.

Our offer

We offer a variety of programmes and courses which are delivered on a termly basis through classroom-based training, an online virtual platform, or a mix of both depending on your needs. We are unique in our offer as we provide on-site crèche facilities whilst you access our services. Please note that there are limited spaces available, and bookings are on a ‘first come first served’ basis. The crèche is limited to children aged 6 months-5 years old.

All our programmes, courses and crèche services are free but subject to specific eligibility criteria.

To access any of the parenting programmes you have to be:

  • a resident of Tower Hamlets with a child from birth 19 years old (25 Years old with SEND)

To access any of the adult learning courses, you have to be:

  • a resident of Tower Hamlets with a child from birth - 19 years old (25 Years old with SEND)
  • have lived in the UK for the last 3 years or more,
  • unemployed on out of work benefits
  • or if you’re working then your household income needs to be less than £21,157.50 per year.
