Business parking permit terms and conditions
1.1 The business is based in a commercial property in Tower Hamlets.
1.2 You are employed by the business or the owner of the business.
1.3 You need a vehicle to carry out your day-to-day duties.
1.4 Your vehicle is not solely used for commuting to a permanent place of work.
1.5 You are insured to drive the vehicle and covered for ‘business use’.
1.6 Your vehicle does not exceed 2.3m (7’ 6”) in height or 5.25m (17’ 3”) in length.
1.7 The permit price will be worked out by the vehicle’s CO2 emissions shown on the DVLA website, or the engine size if the CO2 is not shown.
1.8 A surcharge is added to a diesel vehicle.
1.9 Your permit is valid during the controlled parking times.
1.10 You permit is valid in the parking bays signed: ‘Business Permit Holders Only’, ‘Business Permit Holders or Pay by phone’, ‘Permit Holders Only’, ‘Permit Holders and Pay by phone’.
1.11 Your permit is not valid in any other bays, such as bays signed ‘Pay by Phone only’ or suspended bays.
1.12 Your permit is valid all day in the zone that the company is based, such as zone A1, B1, C1, or D1. The number does not apply to your permit.
1.13 Your permit is valid in another zone for up to three hours in a day. Your time begins when you first park in another zone. As an example, if you park in another zone at 8.30am your permit is valid up to 11.30am.
1.14 This permit does not guarantee you a parking space.
1.15 If any of your details change, you must tell us immediately by updating your details in the online account.
1.16 If you want to cancel your permit, we work out a refund from the next working day, and on the number of complete months remaining. There will be an administration fee of £18.50.
1.17 We refund the debit/credit card used to pay for your permit.
1.18 We reserve the right, to request at any time, documentation to check that you qualify for a permit.
1.19 If you breach any of the terms and conditions your permit may be cancelled, and no refund will be made.
1.20 The council reserves the right to change the terms and conditions by giving you 28 days’ notice.
