Funeral waiver terms and conditions
1 Condition of Use
1.1 The eligibility criteria set out on the Council's Funeral Waiver webpage must be met.
1.2 The funeral service or ceremony must take place within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Funeral waivers are not available solely for attendance at a wake, reception, memorial gathering, or other social event.
1.3 The funeral waivers are issued free of charge.
1.4 The waiver must be clearly displayed on the vehicle dashboard so that the date and all details can be easily seen from outside the vehicle.
1.5 The waiver is valid only on the date shown on the waiver and must not be used on any other day.
1.6 You must always check the signs and notices near the parking bay before leaving your vehicle to make sure that parking is permitted.
1.7 The waiver does not guarantee a parking space during the controlled parking times.
2 Vehicle Restrictions
2.1 The waiver is valid only in a vehicle that is not higher than 2.3 metres (7 feet 6 inches) or longer than 5.25 metres (17 feet 3 inches), including any attached trailer or caravan.
2.2 It is the user’s responsibility to make sure that their vehicle complies with these height and length restrictions. The Council cannot verify vehicle dimensions, as this information is not usually included in the documents provided.
3 Where You Can Park
3.1 The waiver is valid in all parking zones within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
3.2 The vehicle must be parked within the marked limits of a parking bay at all times.
3.3 The waiver is valid for parking bays marked with one of the following signs:
3.3.1 “Resident Permit Holders Only”
3.3.2 “Permit Holders Only”
3.3.3 “Permit Holders or Pay by Phone”
4 Bays and Areas Where the Permit Is Not Valid
4.1 The waiver is not valid in parking bays signed “Pay by Phone Only.”
4.2 The waiver cannot be used in any on-street parking bays other than those listed in Section 3.
4.3 The waiver is not valid for off-street parking, including estate parking bays or private land.
4.4 The waiver cannot be used in suspended parking bays.
4.5 The waiver does not allow you to enter streets where signs show “No Motor Vehicles,” “Pedestrian and Cycle Zone,” or “Pedestrian Zone” during restricted times.
5 Permit Control and Compliance
5.1 The waiver must not be sold, transferred, altered, reproduced, copied, or used fraudulently. Any person found doing so may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice
5.2 The waivers remain the property of the Council and may be withdrawn, cancelled, or declared invalid if it has been issued in error or where there is evidence of misuse, fraud, or a breach of these terms and conditions.
5.3 The Council reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Updated terms and conditions will be published on the Council's website.
