Srebrenica Genocide Memorial Day

Srebrenica

Today is Srebrenica Genocide Memorial Day, a day which marks Europe’s worst massacre since the Second World War which killed more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslims.

Every year, Remembering Srebrenica selects a theme that reflects an aspect of the genocide that needs to be commemorated. The theme for 2023 is ‘Together We Are One’. You can find out more at Remembering Srebrenica - Remembering the Bosnian Genocide.

Every year, Tower Hamlets Council supports Srebrenica Genocide Memorial Day, reinforcing the message that together we stand up against violence and hatred on the grounds of religion and ethnicity and that that there is ‘No Place for Hate’ in Tower Hamlets.

To mark your support, you can sign the Tower Hamlets Council No Place for Hate pledge. Everyone can help make a difference and everyone has a part to play in achieving equality, social justice and making Tower Hamlets No Place for Hate.
