I Can Be campaign

We want to see more Black, Asian and Multi-Ethnic residents in community leadership roles

Should there be more Black, Asian and minority-ethnic people in senior leadership roles in the borough?

Tower Hamlets Council thinks so – and it is calling on residents to take part in a project which aims to encourage more people from those communities, currently under-represented in these roles, to feel that such roles are for them - and to apply.

Ahead of the launch of the new “I Can Be” project in September, the council wants to find out more how residents would like to be communicated with and which channels work best for different groups.

The council is holding four workshops over the summer to give residents a chance to take part and give their views.

The first one taking place on Monday 3 July at 11am. This workshop will be held online.  Click here to join the meeting.

How it will work:

  • The event will be hosted through a Microsoft Teams event.
  • We recommend joining through a web browser on a computer (such as Chrome or Firefox). You can also participate through a smart phone or tablet, but on these devices you may be prompted to download a free Microsoft Teams app.
  • The event will go live at 11am on Monday 3 July - this is when the link will become live. You can submit a question through the chat box or you can also watch the session without asking a question.
