Gas safety

If you have a gas supply, your landlord must give you a valid gas safety certificate when you move in. Every 12 months, a certified Gas Safe engineer must check your appliances.

If you smell gas, think you have a gas leak, or are worried that fumes containing carbon monoxide are escaping from a gas appliance, call the free Gas Emergency Services emergency line immediately -  0800 111 999

Carbon Monoxide can kill

You can't see it, taste it or smell it but carbon monoxide (CO) can kill quickly without warning.  Seven people each year die from CO poisoning caused by gas appliances and flues that have not been properly installed, maintained or that are poorly ventilated.
