Core Strategy Adoption and Examination

Adoption

The Core Strategy was found sound by the Planning Inspector and was formally adopted by Full Council on 15 September 2010.

The Council has produced an Adoption Statement and Sustainability Appraisal Adoption Statement to accompany the Core Strategy (2010).

Examination

Following the submission of the Core Strategy to the Secretary of State on December 18, 2009, Examination in Public (EiP) to test the soundness of the document was undertaken from 13 to 28 April 2010.

Following the EiP, the Planning Inspector issued a Report to the Council on December 17, 2012. The Inspector determined that the Core Strategy can be adopted if the Council makes a number of minor amendments. These amendments ensured that the Core Strategy met legal and statutory requirements.
